1 quart of heavy cream
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1. Chill bowl and whipping attachment for one-half hour before making. Add heavy cream and sugar to the bowl and start with a stir until cream and sugar begin to mix, about 30 to 60 seconds.
2. After mixing for about a minute, add pure vanilla extract, and increase speed.
3. Watch as the cream thickens and be sure to stop when you can easily spoon out the cream. (If you continue whipping too long it will turn to a buttery substance.)

This is a simple but very tasty way to flavor a whipped cream that can be used for desserts or as a topping for drinks. In this particular use Sheree DeLorenzo has taken the left over apples for an apple pie (which have already been seasoned with cinnamon, sugar, etc.) and served them in a martini glass with the whipped cream on top. The cream can also be flavored with coffee, chocolate, orange zest or liqueur.

I just wanted to demonstrate for you to make homemade whipped cream. This is the easiest thing you could ever make in your kitchen. So we're going to take a quart of heavy cream and add that to our mixing bowl.

The mixing bowl is chilled. I put the mixing bowl in the freezer for 30 minutes with the attachment. There will be an attachment.

So we took a quart of heavy cream, one cup of sugar. I add it all together. Some people mix the cream a little bit and then add. I just add it all together. It all comes out the same. So whisk that in the stirrer until this thickens the cream.

And it's going to thicken up in a few seconds. Once the air starts incorporating in the cream, that's going to start thickening up. I cannot see taking whipped cream out of a tub, or out of a can, when you can make it in two seconds so easily, and so cheaply, with heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla. That's the only things that go into my whipped cream.

You can make flavored whipped cream and add coffee, which is a nice espresso. And you can use the instant espresso granules to make a flavored whipped cream. Kahlua, you can add Grand Marnier. You can zest an orange and add that to your whipped cream. Delicious with the Grand Marnier, orange zest, some sugar. Very, very good. So there's many flavors to your whipped cream.

I'm going to add one teaspoon of vanilla. That's it. That's all there is to it to this whipped cream. It's starting to thicken already and it's only been on for a minute.

Oh my God. I love to have fresh whipped cream on my coffee. I just love it, even in the morning. You take a nice, fresh cup of coffee with a dollop of whipped cream. There's nothing better. Life is good when you can have a dollop of whipped cream with your morning coffee, because this stays in the refrigerator.

And how you can store this is you can take another bowl with a sifter and then put the whipped cream on top. Or you could add cheesecloth into your sifter. Add the whipped cream. And then all the liquid will come through. And the whipped cream will stay for a couple of days in your refrigerator. But if you don't do that, your whipped cream dies in a day.

So this is thickening up nicely. A quick dessert at home that I do when I have dinner parties is I take a store-bought pound cake and I add fresh berries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, right on top, and a dollop of fresh whipped cream.

That's a super easy dessert, fast and quick. And you can serve that with a cookie. People just think you've been cooking all day. But it's not, really. It's just a nice, quick dessert. It's great in the summertime.

I can see this thickening up nicely. If you over-whip your whipped cream, it turns to butter consistency. So you really have to watch it as you go along.

And as you can see, our whipped cream is nicely thickened. There is the whipped cream. Everybody in the kitchen's dying for a scoop of this whipped cream.

We have some wonderful apples here. I'm going to put these in a martini glass, which is great for the fall. But if you have strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries, or any type of fruit, you just add them in.

I would add a nice apple liqueur right on top, and then just add a nice dollop of whipped cream right on top. Now, how beautiful is that to serve to your guests, right in a martini glass? The presentation is super easy. And it took no time at all to make this fresh whipped cream. Thank you.
