Summer continues and so does the need to limit your time in the kitchen, especially doing any baking or cooking. Still, the need for creating a “homemade dessert” still remains for many people, especially for those who have spoiled their family and friends with tasty dessert treats.

Julie Geary of Classic Caterers is a master at creating those desserts that people actually think are homemade. Even if they find out they are not, who cares because they taste so good.

This recipe uses what are called “brownie bites,” which are small bite-sized morsels of regular brownie mix. They look like little cupcakes. You can turn just about any brownie mix into a brownie bite by usually cutting the cooking time by at least half. Check them before they are halfway through by inserting a toothpick into the center.

The chocolate pudding is whatever you wish to but or you can make that as well. And of course you can make your own whipped cream or buy a topping, such as whipped cream in a can or a cool whip type mixture.

In either case, Geary recommends that you top them with your favorite chocolate or other sauces such as caramel. If you place the finished bites on the plate your can swirl them around and “make it look like a professional did it,” she says.
