Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) can dark pie cherries, drained and juice reserved
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 whole boneless turkey ham (about 4 pounds)
2 slices canned pineapple, cut in half
whole cloves

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cherry juice, orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch and mustard. Stirring constantly, simmer until mixture thickens and becomes glossy. Set aside.
2. With a knife, make diagonal diamond cuts, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep, over top of ham. Arrange pineapple slices on top, using whole cloves to hold in place. Stick whole cloves in center of remaining diamonds.
3. In lightly greased 9 x 11 x 2-inch baking pan, place ham. Spoon 1/4 of glaze over ham and heat according to package directions, basting several times with glaze. Stir cherries into remaining glaze; simmer to heat through. To serve, slice ham and top slices with glaze.

The glaze can be made a day or two ahead of time, just bring to room temperature before basting the ham as it cooks.
