1 (16-ounce) package frozen broccoli
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 boneless, skinless broiler-fryer chicken, cooked, cut into pieces
1 (8-ounce) package shell macaroni, cooked
2 large tomatoes, cut into large cubes
1/2 cup coarsely-chopped red onion
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup Italian salad dressing (made from dry mix)
seasoned croutons for garnish, optional
black olives for garnish, optional


1. In medium saucepan, steam broccoli over boiling water for about 5 minutes. Remove broccoli from pan, drain and sprinkle with salt.
2. In large bowl, place chicken, broccoli, shell macaroni, tomatoes and onion; sprinkle with pepper. Add Italian dressing and mix gently but thoroughly.
3. Chill in refrigerator. Garnish if desired with seasoned croutons and black olives.

In the following recipe, any bottled recipe of your choice can be substituted for 1 cup Italian salad dressing made from dry mix, including low-fat and fat-free varieties.
