1 tablespoon peanut or vegetable oil
8 ounces Chinese Turnip, trimmed and cut into julienne sticks
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste


1. In a nonstick skillet over high heat, heat peanut oil; add turnips. Cook about 5 to 6 minutes, or until nearly tender.
2. Stir in sesame oil and sesame seeds; cook 2 minutes more or until seeds begin to brown. Remove from heat; stir in chives and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Chinese turnips, also called lo bok, are available at Asian markets. If unavailable, substitute peeled and julienned regular turnips or kohlrabi.
