8 ears fresh corn, husks removed
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, pressed


1. In a very large saucepan, bring 3 quarts water to a boil, covered. Add corn, cover and cook 5 minutes.
2. Combine butter and garlic in a custard cup. Microwave on full power 25 seconds.
3. Drain corn very well, sprinkle with salt and serve with garlic butter.

Adding salt to the cooking water, as many people do, toughens the corn.
