Dipping Sauce:
1 cup teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
4 ice cubes

4 prepared veggie burger patties, finely chopped
2 chopped green onions
3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon chopped fresh gingerroot
Salt and pepper to taste
1 pack of gyoza or wonton wrappers
1 tablespoon vegetable oil


1. Prepare Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine teriyaki sauce, brown sugar and sesame oil. Bring to a boil, simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add ice cubes; let cool while you prepare potstickers.
2. Prepare Potstickers: In a large bowl, mix patties, green onions, teriyaki sauce and chopped gingerroot. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Lay a wrapper on a flat surface and brush with a little water along edges, keeping remaining wrappers covered. Place about a tablespoon of filling in center, fold in half to form a triangle. Press firmly on the edges to close and bring far edges together to make potstickers stand up, repeat with remaining wrappers.
4. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil; add potstickers and cook until bottoms are browned. Add 1/4 cup water; cover and simmer until water evaporates and potstickers are tender. Serve warm with dipping sauce.

Using prepared veggie burger patties cuts down the preparation time for these dumpings. They can also be made ahead and frozen. Thaw in the refrigerator before cooking.
