Cream:
2 1/2 pounds (5-7)Golden Delicious apples, pared, cored and quartered
1 1/2 cups water, divided 1/2 cup sugar
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons rum
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 cup whipping cream, whipped

A delicately flavored molded dessert. 1/3 cup raisins or currants can be added to the sauce with the milk.
