2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound boneless top sirloin steak, cut 1 inch thick
1 1/2 cups green, red or yellow bell pepper pieces
8 large mushrooms
Salt to taste

1. Preheat broiler. In a large bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, water, mustard, honey, oregano and pepper; add beef, bell pepper and mushrooms, turning to coat. Alternately thread pieces of beef, bell pepper and mushrooms on each of four 12-inch metal or wooden skewers.
2. Place kebabs on rack in broiler pan so surface of meat is 3 to 4 inches from heat source. Broil 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. Season with salt, if desired.
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes before adding the ingredients. Cut the peppers in 1-inch wedges or squares so they'll remain on the skewers during broiling.
